Willie Mae Henderson DIANA �On June 12, 2012, Willie Mae Henderson was peacefully called home to spend eternity with her savior Jesus Christ. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Ore City, with Brother Rob Casey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at the Henderson Family Cemetery in Ore City. Willie Mae was born April 7, 1932 in Vidor, Texas to Paul and Stella Rehorovic. She was employed at Security State Bank in Ore City for 42 years. She began her career as a cashier and served as vice president at the time of her retirement in 1998. She was proud to become the first female trustee of the board of directors at Security State Bank, and served in this capacity until her retirement. In 1991, Willie Mae was elected to the board of directors of Upshur Rural Electric Coop. Being a director of this board brought her great joy and she proudly served in this role for 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ore City. She also enjoyed her membership in the Ore City Garden Club and AARP. Willie Mae was a member of the Women�s Professional Bankers Association and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, and travel. She loved spending time with her family and did so at every opportunity. She brought many smiles to many people and will be missed by all. Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jonathan �Ted� Henderson who passed away in 2008. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law: Howard & Anita Henderson of Ore City, Jay & Lynn Henderson of Longview, daughters & sons-in-law: Suzanne & Dennis Mitchell of Longview, Melinda & Steve Hathaway of Longview, 4 grandchildren: Keshia Hampton, Elizabeth Acuna & husband James, Captain Jonathan Henderson, M.D. USAF & wife 1st Lt. Jennifer, USAF, Emily Strode & husband Jay, 3 great-grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 12 step great-grandchildren. The family wishes to give special thanks to nurse Steve Corbell and Patricia Peoples of Beacon Hospice. Memorials may be made to Beacon Hospice, 5016 Gilmer Rd., Longview, Texas 75604. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Grubbs-Loyd Chapel in Diana.
