Willie Fern Cooner

DIANA: Services for Willie Fern Cooner, 81, of Diana will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Smyrna United Methodist Church, with Reverend Josue Contreras and Dakota Cooner officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. She passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 in Hollister, Missouri.

Mrs. Cooner was born August 17, 1935 in Diana, Texas to James and L.V. Kuykendall. She was a homemaker, lifetime Harleton resident and member of Smyrna UMC. She married Doy Lee Cooner on March 17, 1951 in Texarkana. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2011.

Mrs. Cooner is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Doy Lynn and Genia Cooner of Diana, Gary Ronald and Debbie Cooner of Hollister, MO, 6 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and her loving cat, Rascal.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 4, 2017, 6-8 p.m. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.

Pallbearers for the service will be Joshua Contreras, Brady Jones, Brandon Jones, Hunter Echols, Layne Cooner, Dakota Cooner, Triston Cooner, John Armitage, Logan Armitage, and Jayden Woodruff. Honorary pallbearers are Isaiah Contreras, Jacob Contreras, Cason Echols, Austin Woodruff and Sgt. William A. Woodruff, Jr.
