Funeral services for Wayne James, 78, of Big Sandy will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dicky Mauk officiating. Interment will be in the Little Mound Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. James passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at a Tyler Hospital. Mr. James was born March 11, 1936 in Gilmer to Ralph and Ena Davis James. He was a lifetime resident of Upshur County, veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Little Mound Baptist Church. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Renae James of Rhonesboro and Jason and Shalon James of Latch; step-son and wife, Tracy and Ann Briggs of Longview; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Sue and Tom Spinks of Irving; grandchildren and spouses, Ashley and Luke Baker, Kody and Jessika Keith, Adam and Amber James, Connor Teel, Garret Briggs and Alexandra Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Easton and Logan Baker, Kenlee and Paisley Keith and Bentlee James. Mr. James is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Glenda Ivy; and granddaughter, Megan James. Pallbearers will be Cody Keith, Luke Baker, Chaffin Smith, Willie Langford, Brett Myers and Earnie Lang. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
