Wanda Louise McElroy

Mrs. Wanda Louise McElroy, age 92, of Gladewater, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in Gladewater. Wanda was born on November 20, 1926, in Denton, Texas to the late Jesse and Willie Jewell (Bridges) Curry. She married the late Joe McElroy on May 11, 1946 in Denton. She was a loving and devoted homemaker, and member of the New Life Fellowship Church of Gladewater. She enjoyed cross-stitching, flower gardening, and she was a wonderful cook. Joe and Wanda enjoyed traveling together, visiting places all across the world, Jerusalem, Hawaii, Niagara Falls and other places during their life together.

Joe preceded her in death in 2008; she is also preceded in death by her only grandson, Cameron Brooks; and sister, LaVerne Mosley
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Monte and Danny Brooks of Longview; son, Larry McElroy of Gladewater; sister, Jean Caudle of Denton; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July, 22, 2019, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. Funeral services will be at the New Life Fellowship Church, 815 N. Main St., Gladewater, TX, 75644; Bro. Bill Teague officiating. Interment will follow at Gladewater Memorial Park.
