Wanda June Barton

Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda June Barton, 78 will be held 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with Bro. Charles Johnson and Bro. Donnie Chamberlain officiating, and interment to follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Upshur County. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Mrs. Barton passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 in Longview.

She was born in Gilmer, Texas on July 24, 1944, to J.L. and Lurlene (Amos) Barton. Mrs. Barton worked as a sewing operator for Regal Headwear, as well as working as a med aid for nursing homes in the area for several years. She will be greatly missed by the many friends and family members she leaves behind.

Mrs. Barton is survived by her son, Ray Gunn and wife Jennifer of Denton; brothers, Larry Barton and wife Rolanda and Wayne Barton all of Gilmer; grandchildren, Kyle Gunn and wife Karah, Brandi Pleasant and husband Matt, and Zach Gunn; as well as six great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Sam Barton; daughter Teresa Gunn; and brother Gerald Barton.

Pallbearers for the service will be Kyle Gunn, Jimmy Ray Barton, Gerald Barton, Dan Green, and Robert Crawford.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Sharon Crawford for her many years of love and support she gave her Aunt June.
