Graveside services for Mr. Walter Merlon Jones, Jr., 70, of Gilmer will be held 2:00 P.M, Monday December 30, 2013 at Mattox Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas with Bro. Don Kitchell officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Jones passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013, in Longview. Mr. Jones was born on October 21, 1943, in Linden, Texas to Walter Merlon Jones, Sr. and Reba Frances Brasher Jones. He served in the U. S. Army Airborne Division. He was a member of the Masons and the Church of Christ. Mr. Jones was a professional photographer. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dennis and Ronald Jones and a sister, Dianne Savell. He is survived by sons, Walter Jones, III of Shreveport., Cash Jones and wife, Leslie of Longview; brother, Forrest Jones and wife, Lisa, of Shreveport; sister, Candace Jones of Redmond, Washington; sister-in-law, Deborah Jones of Gilmer; grandchildren, Madison and Landyn Byrne and Ariel Jones. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 on Monday, December 30, at Croley Funeral Home.
