Celebration of Life services for Walter Keith (W.K.) Brown, II, 69, of Winona, will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church with Brother Gene Ferrell officiating. Mr. Brown passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at his residence in Winona.
W.K. was born July 30, 1949 in Robstown, Texas to the late Walter Keith and Ruth Brown. Mr. Brown served six years in the United States Army and Army National Guard during the Korean War and received an Honorable Discharge in 1973 with a rank of Sgt. He was a retired City Inspector after many years of service. He was a thirty year resident of Winona and had lived in Longview and Jacksonville prior to moving to Winona. W.K. loved animals especially dogs and for several years raised racing Greyhounds and then went on to raise several different breeds of dogs. He also loved collecting all types of memorabilia and at one time owned and operated an antique store in Gladewater. All of W.K.’s collectibles had a story and he was more than willing to you about it. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends outdoors fishing and hunting; especially his buddies at the Swamp City Rod & Gun Club. W.K. lived life to the fullest and will not soon be forgotten by all the family and friends he leaves behind.
W.K. is survived by his former wife of twenty years Joan Brown Linebaugh; two sons Gary Brown and Keith Brown; four step children Shane Walters, Shannon Walters, Samantha Walters and Dale Linebaugh; sister Lana Caver; grandchildren Colton Brown, Carter Brown, Emerson Brown, George Walters, Sam Walters, Mill Walters, Colin Chastain, Lauren Chastain, Trent Walters, Abigail Ivy, Addison Ivy, Holly Linebaugh, Pressly Linebaugh, Beaux Linebaugh, Luke Linebaugh and Kaleigh Linebaugh; great grandchildren Addison Brown, Cameron Chastain, Alee Chastain and Beckum Williams as well as many other loving family and friends.
