Virginia "Ginger" Lee Bateman

Virginia “Ginger” Lee Bateman passed away unexpectedly in her home on June 24th, 2023 at just 63 years young. Ginger was born in Boulder City, Nevada on July 3rd, 1959 to Ivan Nicks and Barbara Thompson. She grew up an active child who loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding horses, showing dogs, hunting, and swimming.

She married Les Myers on February 2, 1980 and they raised their three children in Anchorage, AK and Spirit Lake, ID. She wore many hats over the years: working as a waitress, running an in-home daycare, working at the airport as security, and ended her working career doing her favorite job of all- driving a school bus for the Lakeland School District.

Ginger is preceded in death by her Father Ivan Nicks and her sister Shelley Walters.

She is survived by her husband Dave Bateman, her mom Barbara Thompson, daughter Angie (Robin) Workman, son Cameron (Nikki) Myers, son Josh (Courtney) Myers, nieces Shana Nicks, Jackie (Matthew) Gerand, great nieces and nephews, and step-daughters Michelle Hanson and Nanette. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Kaycee, Ryelee, Emmett, Emerie, Emzlee, Gemma, Olive, and Ivan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 29^th at 11 a.m at Spirit Lake Baptist Church, 32129 3^rd Ave Spirit Lake, ID. There will be food and fellowship to follow. This is not goodbye...only see you later. You are loved and dearly missed.
