Virginia Barber

A Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia Barber, 90, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 1, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Gilmer. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Barber passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 in Gilmer. Mrs. Barber was born November 21, 1924 in Florida to Jasper and Bertha Rose Scilalaro Falcone. She and her husband owned the Gilmer Locker Plant; she loved to play Bridge and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Seahorn; grandchildren, Christi and husband, Sterling McDermott, Wesley and wife, Anna Seahorn; great-grandchildren, Emily Elwell, Jed Elwell, Avery McDermott, Bailey Seahorn, Tucker McDermott and Makenna Taylor. Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband, James W. "Ecky" Barber and son, James Michael Barber. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Gilmer or Care Team Hospice. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 30, 2014, with visitation following at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
