Violet Mae Snow

Funeral services for Mrs. Violet "GG" Snow, 102, of the Upshur County Area will be held 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with David Snow officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Upshur County. The family will have visitation from 2:00 until service time. Mrs. Snow passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 in Gilmer. She was born on December 31, 1912, to Oliver Houston Merryman and Amy Mae Barton Merryman. On January 20, 1934, in Dallas, Texas she married Elwin W. Snow and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2007. Mrs. Snow was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Christ Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leslie and Bennie Merryman and sisters, Bartine Donnell and Mildred Coldren. Mrs. Snow is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Carolyn Sue Snow of Marshall; daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Jim Slover of Pittsburg and Linda and Charles Ogden of Corpus Christi; nine grandchildren, Michael Slover, Tiffany Neill, Andrea Tallent, Charlie Ogden, Richard Snow, Randall Snow, Russell Snow, Nancy Davis and Amy Snow; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers for Mrs. Snow will be Richard, Randall and Russell Snow, Michael Slover, Kelly Neill and Johnny Tallent and her honorary pallbearers are Glen Tharp, David Galbraith and Ronnie Fincher.
