Venedia N Watkins

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Old White Oak Cemetery on Saturday, August 29, 2015, for Venedia N. Watkins, 97, of White Oak, Texas. Mrs. Watkins passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015, in Longview, Texas. Venedia N. Watkins was born in Spring Creek, Arkansas, to Dave A. and Lou Brenton Neeley, on July 24, 1918. She taught school for 13 years then became the Region 7 Special Education Director for 15 years and retired from the Region 7 Education Service Center in 1983. Mrs. Watkins also taught at Stephen F. Austin for 4 years and Texas A&M Commerce for 6 years. Mrs. Watkins is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joyce Watkins of Tomball; sister, Mickey Weaver of Longview; four grandchildren, Angela Chandler, Donald George, Eric Watkins and Amy Van Rees; ten great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Watkins; sons, Michael David Watkins and Billy Donald Watkins; and sister, Dale Simpson. There is no visitation scheduled for this service.
