Truman Howard Elwell

GILMER- Funeral services for Truman Howard Elwell, 97, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Gilmer, will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, Texas with Larry W. Osborne officiating. Mr. Elwell passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016. He was born on November 5, 1918 in Upshur County to Claude Nelson and Stella Ann Arnold Elwell. Mr. Elwell was in the United States Army and served in the Pacific Ocean theatre of World War II. He was a master carpenter and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Elwell is survived by his daughters; June Doigg of Dallas and Vickie Paschal and husband, Dick of McKinney; sister, Clovis Green of Tyler; grandchildren, Kristin Srivarodom, Kerri Glover and husband, Dave, Angie Grimes and husband, Greg, Allyson Miles and husband, Andrew; great grandchildren, Maddie Herr, Jack Srivarodom, Katherine Glover, Heidi Glover, Piper Glover, Allison Grimes, Madison Grimes, and Emma Miles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Elwell, and his son, Steve Elwell. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home.
