Private graveside services for Traudel Ursula Jordan, 74, of Gilmer, will be held Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Memory Park in Longview. Mrs. Jordan passed away on April 18, 2020, in Gilmer.
Traudel was born August 10, 1945, in Munster, Germany, to Rudolf and Lena May. She loved to cook, and worked at Upshur Manor preparing meals for the residents. She was featured in the Gilmer Mirror in 1986, as Cook of the Week. The article listed several of her favorite German meals.
Traudel also enjoyed dancing and singing and entertained the residents often with her talents. Being young at heart, she loved her family and worked hard throughout her whole life. She was a member of Pine Acres Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Charles Jordan; parents, Rudolf and Lena May; a brother, Dieter May; and a great granddaughter, Audri Layne Jordan.
Survivors include her spouse, Don Ellington; children, Larry Jordan, Gerald Jordan and wife, Michelle, Sheila Chaplinski and husband, Billy, Angela Snyder and husband, Jeff, Courtni Saucier and husband, Kirk; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
