Thomas "Tom" Marion King

Tom M. King, 87, of Gilmer, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Thomas Marion King was born October 27, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Donald A. King and Helen E. Tharp King. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, earning many medals for his brave actions. Tom worked as a logistics operator for transportation for many years. He married the love of his life, Virginia Butler King on May 26, 1957, in Aldine, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia King; son, Tommy King and wife, Bobbie; daughters, Treasa Kelly and Janice McCormick; grandchildren, Amber Crisman and husband, Cris, Joshua McFerrin, Nicholas Embody and wife, Tara, Emerald McFerrin, Matthew Flemming; great grandchildren, Dylan Embody and wife, Sinoury, Blake Embody, Kristopher Embody, Gavin Ehnis, Lex Ehnis, Aiden Embody, Hayle Embody, Kinley McFerrin, Chloee Crisman, Gracie Embody, Valen McFerrin; a great great grandchild, Greyson Embody; nieces and nephews, the King's of Iowa; special family, Virginia Walker, the Brumley family, the Stanley family, the Rowe-Hinds, Stites; Calvary Baptist Church and New Beginnings Church families; friends in Houston, Tomball and the Gilmer area.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2022, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer and services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Bullard Cemetery.
