Thomas Larry Jordan, known to his friends as Larry, was a true Texan through and through. Born in Starrville, Texas on June 1, 1940, Larry spent his life embracing the rugged beauty of the Lone Star State. From working as a dedicated metallurgist in the steel industry to serving as a reserve deputy sheriff where he achieved the rank of Sergeant for Gregg County, Larry made a lasting impact in his community. Larry joined the US Army at the young age of 17 while still in high school. He was sent to California and once there he finished high school and received his diploma. While serving in the US Army Larry worked in underground missile silos in the late 1950's.
After a career spanning over 20 years in steel manufacturing, retiring from Lone Star Steel, Larry's passion for the outdoors never waned. Whether he was hunting, camping, or fishing, Larry found solace and joy in nature. His hobbies ranged from farming and gardening to exploring the countryside in search of arrowheads and searching for lost treasures with his metal detector.
Larry loved to be outdoors and shared his love for the outdoors with his family and friends. Many adventures together created countless cherished memories that will be forever treasured by those he leaves behind.
Larry is survived by his sons, Thomas Jordan and his wife Kelley and James Jordan; daughters Mary Ann Zaruba and Tracy O'Con; and sister, Linda Jordan as well as 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lindsey and Ima Ruby Jordan; and his son, Daniel Loyd Jordan.
