Terry Barnhill

Services for Mrs. Terry Renee Barnhill, 61, of Rosewood will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, April 02, 2022, at Rosewood Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas.

Mrs. Barnhill passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at her Rosewood home surrounded by family. She was born September 25, 1960 in Gilmer, Texas to Joe Max and Leora Cross Johnson. She was a lifelong member of Rosewood Baptist Church where she served the Lord as pianist for many years. She graduated from Harmony High School, and earned both her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Tyler. She was an educator and counselor for 30 years, 25 of which were at Harmony ISD.

Mrs. Barnhill is survived by her husband Mark Barnhill, of Rosewood; her mother Leora Cross Johnson, of Rosewood; her son and daughter-in-law Wesley and Lauren Carter, of Midland, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law Eric and Dana Carter, of Fort Polk, Louisiana; brother and sister-in-law Paul and Donna Johnson, of Rosewood; four grandchildren, Rylee, Max, Cora, and Ella; and niece Cameron Johnson, of Rowlett, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father Joe Max Johnson, her brother Howard Max Johnson, and her very special niece Haley Johnson.

The family will receive friends at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer on Friday, April 01, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00PM.
