Graveside services for Teddy “Ted” Langdon, age 93, of Gilmer, are scheduled for Friday, January 19, 2018 at Glenwood Cemetery in the Glenwood Community, Bro. Donny Chamberlain officiating. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer.
Ted was born on December 11, 1924 in Gilmer to the late Robert A. and Edna Sanders Langdon. He passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 in a Longview Hospital. He graduated, Valedictorian, from Glenwood School, and later graduated from the former East Texas State College. He joined the Army Air Corps during World War II, he received the EAME Campaign Medal with 4 bronze stars, the Air Medal with 10 oak clusters, the Distinguished Unit Badge, and the World War II Victory Medal. Upon returning to civilian life, he continued his life of civil service with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in North Dakota, and finally Arizona where he retired. He enjoyed hunting for Quail and Pheasant and fishing in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sybil Allen.
He is survived by his sister, Mattie Gunn Malone of Longview; two nephews, Gordon Gunn of Gilmer, John Allen and wife Gail of Ft. Worth; and one niece, Susan Cude and husband Gary of Glenwood.
