Sylvia Jean Poer

Sylvia J. Poer, formerly of San Antonio, passed away on September 5, 2010, in Gilmer, Texas at the age of 73. She retired to Gilmer in 1994 after serving many years as the Risk Manager for Baptist Hospitals in San Antonio. She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister, Lyn Hayes. Ms. Poer is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Ray Miller of Gilmer, Texas, a niece, Kim Hatridge of Corpus Christi, a nephew, Larry Nogueira of Houston, three great-nieces, Taylor Hatridge, Grace Hatridge and Lucy Nogueira, and a great-nephew, Tanner Hatridge. Services and burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio, on Thursday, September 9, at 1:00 p.m under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Gilmer, Texas.
