Sr. Airman Mickey Ray Grubbs III (Trace)

Funeral services for Sr. Airman Mickey Ray Grubbs III (Trace), 22, of Gilmer, will be held Saturday, 2:00 P.M, October 25, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Reverend Gary Hampton officiating. His interment with military honors from the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Upshur County. Trace passed away in Franklin County, Texas on Monday, October 20, 2014. He was born on December 31, 1991, in Webster, Texas, the son of Mickey Grubbs Jr. and Glenda Grubbs and graduated from Harmony High School in 2010. Trace served his country in the U. S. Air Force from September 2010 until June 2014 and immediately entered the Air Force Reserves. He was a drilling hand for C. Miller Drilling and a member of Church of God. Trace is survived by father, Mickey Grubbs, Jr. and mother, Glenda of Gilmer; mother, Becky Dorsett and stepdad Dennis of Alvarado Texas; sisters, Courtney Grubbs of Gilmer, Melissa Buczkowski of Irving, Micki Grubbs of Houston and Mary King of Winnsboro; stepbrother, Jacob Dorsett of Alvarado; grandparents, Mickey and Amelia Grubbs of Winnsboro, Wes Spangler Sr. of Gilmer and Sandy Randall of Houston; also survived by aunt Kristi Johnson; uncle John Grubbs; great uncle, Andy Clark; nieces, Zoe Beveridge, Kynli Buczkowski, Sapphire Grubbs and Addison King; and many, many cousins. He was preceded in death by uncle Scott Randall; grandparents, Fred Randall, Janette Grubbs Toliver and Hazel C. Spangler; great uncle, Donnie Spangler; great aunt, Jessie Clark; great grandparents, Jim Young, William Randall, A. J. Grubbs, Ruby Young, Lillian Irene Grubbs and Lois Spangler. Pallbearers will be Bo Estes, Collier Hicks, Mike Gentry, Matt Cannon, Rudy Perez and Wes Spangler, Jr. Trace"s extended military family will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M at the funeral home.
