Shirley Ruth Stidham, passed away on April 11, 2024, in Gilmer, Texas. Shirley was born on March 24, 1939, in Freehold, New Jersey to John Hoffman and Mary Doggendorf Hoffman.
She spent most of her childhood in Ship Bottom, NJ where she worked in her parent's seafood market and restaurant, and part in North Fort Myers, FL where she was a resident for most of her life.
Shirley owned and operated her own real estate office, Shirley Thomas Real Estate, for at least 30 years. Her passion for the industry shone through in every transaction she facilitated, leaving a lasting impact on all those she encountered.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Shirley was known for her diverse interests and hobbies. She loved camping, boating, and fishing. Traveling held a special place in her heart, especially cruising to new destinations. She also had a home in Green Mountain, NC where she spent many summers with her husband, Robert, gardening and raising boxwoods.
Shirley is survived by her loving son, Brian Royer of North Carolina; daughter Theresa Miller (Robert) of Gilmer; grandson Timothy Scott Royer of Florida; as well as two great-grandchildren, Jaelin Royer and Angelina Royer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stidham, in 2018 and her son Tim in 2004.
