Shellie Beard Hughes

Shellie Beard Hughes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on July 8, 2023, at the age of 57. She was born on December 26, 1965, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Merlene (Zeeb) and Don Beard, Sr.

Shellie was a devoted homemaker who found fulfillment in caring for her family. Her nurturing nature and selfless love created a warm and welcoming atmosphere within her home. Throughout her life, Shellie cherished the relationships she shared with her loved ones. Shellie is survived by her husband Randall Hughes; father Don Beard, Sr.; son Alex Gomez; brother Jeff Beard; grandson Trey Gomez; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her mother Merlene Beard; and brother Don Beard, Jr.

In honor of Shellie's life and the profound impact she had on those around her, visitation will take place at Hopewell Methodist Church in Gilmer, Texas on July 12th from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at the same location, at 2:00 PM. The church is located at 8129 FM 49, Gilmer, TX 75644.
