Shawn D. Scott

Services for Shawn Scott, 55, of Gilmer, will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilmer, with Bishop Jimmy Coulter presiding. Interment will follow at Lone Mountain Cemetery. Shawn passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014, in Gilmer. Shawn was born on April 29, 1959, in Houston, to Gilbert Raymond and Mary Ruth Mize Scott. He married Amelia Kay Wright on March 20, 1982 in Gilmer. He was a chemical operator at Texas Eastman and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shawn is survived by his wife, Amelia "Millie" Scott; son, Neal Raymond Scott, and wife, Erin; daughters, Chrystal Fawn Erickson and husband, Justin; Stormy Kay Scott; brothers, Tim Scott and wife, Pam; Mark Scott; David Scott and wife, Naomi; sister, Judy Lynn Reynolds and husband, John; grandchildren, Paige Johnson, Adam Scott, Billy Scott, Jayden Scott; mother-in-law, Nelda Wright; sister-in-law, Gay Nell Turner; brother-in-law, Leon Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 16, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
