Sharon Joy (Dressler) Holt

Sharon Joy (Dressler) Holt, 81, of Holly Lake Ranch, TX, returned to be with her Savior on Sunday, December 1, 2024. She was born on May 28, 1943, in Peoria, IL to the late George Dressler and Margaret (Coughlin) Savidge. Sharon married her childhood sweetheart, Jack Holt in 1963. Jack preceded her in death in 1989.

Sharon worked as an executive secretary at Growmark in Bloomington, IL for 18 years, before moving to Nashville, TN in 1985. She later retired from the law firm of Adams and Reese in Nashville. She was an active member of Greenbrier United Methodist Church, Greenbrier, TN as well as First United Methodist Church of Hawkins, TX. She played the marimba and vibes and was involved in playing with a band, which she enjoyed doing until she started her family in the 1960’s. Sharon loved supporting her family and attending events that her grandchildren were participating in as well as being involved with JOY at Greenbrier United Methodist Church, and playing group games such as Bunko, Bingo or any other game with a group of friends, but most of all, spending time with her family.

Sharon is survived by her children, Jackie Holt Dusek and her husband, John; Brian Holt and his wife, Celina; grandchildren, Heidi Sisson, Courntey Dusek, Breanna Morningstar, Aiden Mattox and Catalina Holt; great-grandchildren, Conner Sisson, Jacob Summers, Caleb Sisson, Leslie Summers; and her sister, Ann Baxter, as well as her extended family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Dressler and Margaret Savidge and Margaret’s second husband Ralph Savidge; her husband, Jack; brothers, Richard Dressler, Ronald McClintick and Donald McClintick; niece, Dawn Baxter and nephew, Todd Baxter.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 10:30 am at First United Methodist Church in Hawkins, TX. A second memorial service will be held at Greenbrier United Methodist Church in Greenbrier, TN on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 2:00 pm.

Funeral services for Mrs. Holt will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso, Illinois, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services. Following the services, Sharon will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso.
