Sharon Rebecca Claxton was born on February 16th, 1956 and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 9th, 2024, at 3:16PM while surrounded by family at her home in Hawkins, TX. Sharon was a woman of many skills, a chef in the kitchen, professional calendar designer through Shutterfly, superb note taker, picture book developer, queen of pulling weeds and master of the garden. Sharon retired from Faulconer Energy after 17 years in September 2023 to fight the disease that took her life. She looked forward to her golden years with her husband on the lake in Hawkins, TX. Sharon was married and devoted to her loving husband and recently celebrated their 42nd anniversary on July 3, 2024. She was a positive light in all the lives she touched and will be remembered by all who met her. Sharon had class, a sense of style and touch of elegance that was unmatched. This woman loved life and everything about it. Thoughtful, compassionate, loyal, caring, selfless, and nurturing are just a few ways to describe her character and who she was as a person. She lovingly raised two daughters and a son, instilling in them the values of doing things correctly from the start and embracing hard work as a way of life.
She is preceded in death by her older brother, Gary Greenlee of Midlothian, TX, and survived by her mother, Betty Dwyer of Richardson, TX; her younger brother, Randy Greenlee of Corsicana, TX; her husband, Joey Claxton of Hawkins, TX; her beloved children, Angela, Chelsea, and Joe from the DFW area; her seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Sharon will be missed by all who knew her, but we find hope through her acknowledgment of Jesus as her savior. Sharon’s message to women of all ages is to have annual scans and be aware of the disease known as breast cancer, while Joey’s message to other husbands is to always support, provide, and encourage all who may be impacted by this disease. Funeral services for Sharon will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins, where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
