Graveside services for Tommy Butler will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014, at 2 P.M. at Tyler Memorial Park with Reverend Wayne McKay officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Born on February 21, 1927, in Desoto, Texas, he died on Thursday, May 29,2014. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He was a retired assistant manager at a body shop. He was a member of the VFW, the DAV, the Masons, and the Shriners. He is survived by his wife, Mozell Butler; two sons, Scott Butler and his wife, Teresa, and Michael Butler and his wife, Amy; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Charlotte Brewster and husband Mickey; and one brother, Johnny Butler and his wife, Irene. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Butler; a step-daughter, Jeanette Caffey; and three grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters.
