Graveside services for Jeanelle Lawler, 79, of Gilmer, Texas will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2014. Jeanelle passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2013 in Gilmer. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Reverend Mark Engel will be officiating. Jeanelle was born in Byer, Texas to Charlie Don and Gertrude Shields on February 23, 1935. She and her husband, Gene, owned and operated Gene's BBQ in Gilmer until she retired. She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie Don Shields and Gertrude Robinson-Sheilds. Surviving Mrs. Lawler is her husband Gene Lawler; daughters and sons in law: Peggy and John Troublefield, Norma Dean and Bobby Melton, Nelda Jean and Dave Preston.
