Funeral services for Sara Grace Yarbrough Kennedy Herrmann, 86, of Tyler will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Gilmer with Reverend Richard Laster officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Gilmer, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mrs. Herrmann passed away Friday, August 12, 2011. Mrs. Herrmann was born November 5, 1924 in Lindale, Texas to Edna Stewart and Robert Franklin Yarbrough. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank Stewart Yarbrough and Robert Walter Yarbrough; her first husband of 25 years, Dr. Joseph B. Kennedy; and her second husband of 19 years, Ed Herrmann. She is survived by her son, Joseph B. Kennedy, II and wife Gail; grandson, Joseph B. Kennedy, III; great-grandson, Aydan Burke, all of Dallas; nieces, Mary Ann and husband Dr. W. B. Kinzie of Ennis, Lina and husband, Charles Hauk, of Tyler. Nephew, Robert W. Yarbrough and wife Sandra of Leander; and niece, Sara Jane Bandy of Rockdale. Three step children, Patricia Stracener and husband, Robert; Pete Herrmann and wife Annette of Gilmer. Bob Herrmann of New York, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sara was a long-time member of The First United Methodist Church, serving on many committees, member of Electa Sunday School class, long-time worker with FUMC Clothes Closet, Bluebonnet Literary Club serving as President 1952-1954, Gilmer Garden Club, Camp Fire Adult Leader and other voluntary organizations. She loved her white poodle Tuffy. Special thanks to Gene Phillips, her constant companion since moving to Tyler. Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
