Funeral services for Mrs. Sandy Dixon Dawson, 43 of Gilmer, will be held Friday, 10:00 A.M, November 7, 2014, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilmer with Bishop Tim Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Kelsey Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer. Mrs. Dawson passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Longview. She was born on September 5, 1971 in Longview, Texas to Jerry Wayne Dixon, Sr. and Phyllis Kay Bryant Dixon. On January 13, 1995, Sandy married Benjamin Shane Dawson in Gilmer and lived her life in the Upshur County area. She was the co-owner/operator of Dawson Land Services and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mrs. Dawson is survived by husband, Ben Dawson; father, Jerry Wayne Dixon Sr. and wife, Judy; sons, Benjamin and Dylan Dawson; daughter, Brooklyn Dawson; brothers, Jerry Wayne Dixon, Jr. and Richard Dixon and wife, Teresa; sisters, Tammy Hill and husband, Kurt and Darla Miller and husband, Tim; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and Sherry Dawson; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Kay Dixon. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 6, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M at the funeral home.
