Ryan D. Henson

Funeral services for Ryan D. Henson, 36, of Longview will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Gilmer with Mark Huffhines officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Henson passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. Ryan was born September 1, 1977 in Tyler to Rodney and Vicki Evans Henson. He was a beloved son, brother, daddy, and friend. Ryan was a 1995 graduate of Gilmer High School and served five years as a U.S. Marine in Okinawa and Hawaii. He worked in the coiled tubing industry, was an avid golfer and an ardent supporter of the Gilmer Buckeyes and the Texas A&M Aggies football teams. Ryan was a child of God, having made a profession of faith and being baptized at Calvary Baptist Church, Gilmer, at age six. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Ryder; daughter, Piper; parents, Rodney and Vicki Henson; sister, Jennifer Pilkerton of Longview and her husband, Michael; sister, Megan Hudson of Fairfax, Virginia; nieces; Chloe Pilkerton and Eleanor Hudson; the mother of his children, Charity Henson; as well as a large extended family and a host of friends. Preceding him in death are paternal grandparents, Paul and Ludie Henson and maternal grandparents, Dan and Sally Evans. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
