Ruth Long

Ruth Long, 92, of Gladewater, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Ruth was born in Kilgore, Texas to David and Gladys Hamiter.

Ruth cherished her family and church. She took pride in being a homemaker and taking care of her son Edd. She loved to dote on her grandsons and great grandsons that were her pride and joy. She spent many years devoted to serving her church as a secretary, treasurer and anything else the church might have needed. She did many jobs around town including upholstery, a seamstress, caregiver to many in need and even delivering papers with her daughter-in-law, Nancy.

Ruth is survived by her son Edd Long and wife Nancy of Gladewater, Texas; grandsons, Chris Long and wife Carrie of Prosper, Texas, Dallas Long and wife Natalie of Spring Hill, Texas; great-grandsons, Corbin and Cegan Long of Prosper, Texas, Max and Crew Long of Spring Hill, Texas; and brother Frank Hamiter and wife Jackie of Arizona.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents David and Gladys Hamiter; sisters, Madge Best, Jean Clark, Helen Beshea, and Linda Sue Hamiter; brothers, David Alton Hamiter.
