Ruth Flowers

Services for Mrs. Ruth Flowers, 99, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 A.M, Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Bro. Pete Dugger officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Upshur County. Mrs. Flowers passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 in Lindale, Texas. She was born on August 28, 1914, in Latch Community, Upshur County, Texas to James Franklin and Nancy Elizabeth Beard Lambert. She attended Latch Schools and in 1947, she married Alvin E. Flowers. They resided in Dallas for many years and relocated to Gilmer more than 40 years ago. Mrs. Flowers was a member of Hopewell Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and the most important things in her life were her family and her home. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters and six brothers. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014, from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
