Ruby Ruth Bailey

Ruby Ruth Bailey of Newsome, Texas, was born on August 2, 1935 in Sour Lake, Texas to Acie Lusk and Corine Guillory Lusk. She was married on December 19, 1952 to LaVon Bailey. Together they had nine children, and lived in Flower Mound, Texas, before retiring at their farm in Newsome. In addition to serving her family, Ruby enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, cooking, quilting, canning, needlework, and sewing. Ruby passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on July 28, 2023 in Grand Saline, Texas, at the age of 87.

She is survived by her son Jack Bailey (Dawn) of Mineola, Texas; daughter Donna Clowers (Joe) of Gunter, Texas; daughter Carolyn Rubin (Barney) of Tyler, Texas; daughter Debbie Horton (Dean) of McKinney, Texas; son David Bailey (Jaime) of Newsome, Texas; son Larry Bailey (Deanna) of Ben Wheeler, Texas; and daughter Jennifer Causey (Wayne) of Blum, Texas; and sister Frances Cheshire of Kountze, Texas; as well as 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, LaVon Bailey; parents, Acie and Corine Lusk; daughters, Sandra Rogers and Janet Stephenson; brothers, Vernon Lusk, Bobby Lusk, and Tommy Lusk; and sisters, Theda

Castle and Leola Patterson.

Visitation will take place at Croley Funeral Home, 305 W Harrison St, Gilmer, Texas, at 1:00 PM; followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM.
