Rose Amos France, 98, passed away in Dallas on January 10, 2022. She was born July 11, 1923 in Latch, TX to the late Henry "Boss" and Aliene Amos. Rose graduated with honors from Gilmer High School in 1939. After high school Rose left East Texas and moved to Dallas where she attended Drawns Business College. She married Alvie France and raised their three children. She spent the rest of her life in Dallas. In 2004 Rose bought a vacation home in Ruidoso, NM, where she spent her summers. She had many friends there and enjoyed 10 years of cool summers.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Carol F. White and her husband, Wayne; son, Eddie France and his wife, Charlotte; daughter Janis Mayrell; six grandchildren, Alicia Dierking, Brett France, Jason France, Joey Mayrell, Andy Mayrell and Michael Mayrell; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; as well as her brother, Hughland Amos.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvie; parents, Boss and Aliene Amos; oldest daughter, Alice Rose France; brother, Durward Amos and son-in-law, David Mayrell.
A graveside service will be held for Rose on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Hopewell Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am-12:30 pm at Croley Funeral Home, prior to the services.
