Ronald Spangler

Gilmer -- Services for Ronald Grant Spangler, 70, will be held at Enon Baptist Church on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at 10 A.M. with Dr. Ray Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Born on June 22, 1946, in Bluefield, West Virginia, he died on Sunday, July 31, 2016. He worked in maintenance for the Gilmer Independent School District. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend as well as a hard worker. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Spangler; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kim Lee, Rhonda and Ryan Bogenschutz, and Eddie Sammons; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandy Sammons, and granddaughter, Sumer Nichols. Pallbearers will be Eddie Sammons, Ryan Bogenschutz, Wes Spangler, and Ronnie Spangler. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Jude's. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
