Ronald 'Buddy' Calvin Parks

Memorial services for Ronald Calvin "Buddy" Parks, 61, of Liberty City, will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 2 P.M. at New Life Fellowship Church, 815 N. Main Street, Gladewater, Texas, with Pastor Billy Teague officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Born on January 11, 1952, in Gilmer, Texas, to Clifford and Martha June Parks, he died on Monday, March 4, 2013. A 1970 graduate of Sabine High School, he attended Kilgore College. A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Vietnam War. On November 28, 1987, he married Glenda Riley. Buddy retired from Texas Eastman after having served 36 years. He was an avid golfer, and he thoroughly enjoyed a game of 42. He is survived by his wife, Glenda of Liberty City; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Katie Parks of Liberty City and Christy and Matthew Schwieger of Gilmer; 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Riley Schwieger of Gilmer; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Tanya and Dr. Loyd Dowd of Tyler; Judye and Greg Leach of Overton; and Sandra Gentry of Longview; special niece and husband, Amanda and Josh Brown of Gladewater; several other nieces, nephews, aunts, Jean Callan of Big Sandy and Charlene Wyatt and husband W.C. of Henderson; and uncle, Jim and Ann Clfton of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and June Wilkins; mother and father-in-law, Marie and Kenneth Williams; and grandson, Justin Beasley. If so desired, memorials may be given to Texas Home Health Hospice, 500 East Loop 281, Longview, Texas 75605. The family would like to express their gratitude to Deborah Nash, his caregiver, and to the staff of Texas Home Health Hospice, especially Joanne, Paula, and Kim. No visitation is scheduled.
