Ron Turner

Funeral services for Ron Turner, 65, of Gilmer will be held 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Larry W. Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Soules Chapel Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Turner was born in Gilmer on November 15, 1948 to Pat and Glee Rice Turner. Before going to college he worked 5 years at Houston Fire Dept. Ron graduated from Stephen F. Austin and worked 35 years for Lone Star Steel and was in Management before his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Carlean Turner of Gilmer; sons and daughters-in-law, Jody and Mary Turner of Atlanta, Ga., Jon Turner of Tyler, Josh Turner of Gilmer, Bryan and Jyl Wood of Naples, TX, Todd and Mandi Wood of Pittsburg; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lana Turner of Gilmer; sister and brother-in-law, June and Jim Alvey of White Oak; grandchildren, Ali Wood, Jace Wood, Jordan Wood, McKenna Wood, Kylee Turner and Emma Turner. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Glee Turner. No formal visitation will be held.
