Roman Gabriel Salinas

Roman Gabriel Salinas, 48, of Hawkins, Texas passed away on April 14, 2023. Roman was born on October 16, 1974 to Matias Salinas Jr. and Rebecca Ocanas Salinas in San Juan, Texas.

Roman had a wide variety of interest but he was known to be a family man first and foremost. He loved traveling all over with is family. Roman was always up to head to a theme park and ride the roller coasters with his daughters. His interest and hobbies included antique cars, fishing, drive in movies as well as being a superhero fan and Star Wars fan and collector. He was also a gun enthusiast. He was very intelligent and became and electrical engineer working for Door Controls USA as well as building his own home. Roman had an artistic and musical side as well. He designed his high school yearbook as well as played the piano, guitar and harmonica. Roman had his favorite places to go out to eat with his family and friends where they made many memories like El Charros, Olive Garden and Ghengis Grill. He was a sports fan that rooted for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Texas Longhorns, and Sam Houston Bearcats. The memories Roman leaves behind will be cherished by all who knew him.

Roman is survived by his wife of 26 years Marilyn Salinas; daughter’s, Hayley and Bayley Salinas; mother, Rebecca Ocanas Salinas; father, Matias Salinas Jr. and stepmother, Brenda Salinas; sister, Jennifer Immell and husband David; brothers, Matias Salinas III and John Salinas and wife Vivian; half-brother Joey Salinas and wife Yendy; stepsister, April Laughlin and husband Toby. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 22, 2023 at 10 o’clock in the morning at the First Baptist Church in Hawkins, Texas.
