Rodger Dean Pinkert

Graveside services for Rodger Dean Pinkert, 64, of Gilmer will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Pinkert passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Gilmer.

Mr. Pinkert was born December 22, 1952 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Melvin Pinkert and Abbie Ruth Kelly. Rodger worked as a carpenter for many years before retiring. He served in the National Guard. Rodger enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, son, brother and uncle who will be truly missed by all the loving family and friends he leaves behind.

Rodger is survived by his brother Royce Pinkert of Gilmer; sister Lonny Hemby of Oklahoma City, OK as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Edna Marie Pinkert who passed away in February 12, 2016 after 43 years of marriage.
