Robert DeWeese, Jr.

Funeral service is for Mr. Robert DeWeese, Jr., 54, of Big Sandy, TX. will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, TX with Bro. Wayne Norvell officiating. Interment to follow service at Chilton Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home. Mr. DeWeese passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018, in Longview, TX.

Robert was born on December 21, 1963, in Laurel, MS to the late George DeWeese, Sr. and Martha (Jones) DeWeese and married Rita Mathis on December 11, 2003 in Hawkins, TX. He worked for CNC Fabrication as a metal worker for many years and honorably served in the United States Army. Mr. DeWeese enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music, and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Rita DeWeese; sons, Travis DeWeese and his wife, Mary, Nikolas “Nik” DeWeese, Gabriel Mathis, and Michael DeWeese; daughters, Haley Rivera and her husband, Francisco, and Mae DeWeese; sisters, Melissa DeWeese Sims and her husband, Lloyd; and grandchildren, Gregory, Francisco “Panchin,” Lexi, Brookelynn, Gracie, “Little” Nik, and Russell; and nieces and nephews, Charles Russell Hahn, Tyler Hahn, Jessica Hahn, Kaylee Sims.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents.
