Memorial services for Robbie Cloy Mooney, 69, of Gilmer will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Saint David"s Episcopal Church in Gilmer with The Reverend Canon Dr. Neal O. Michell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Mooney passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Mooney was born November 6, 1942 in Austin, Texas to Robert and Bernice McNeil. She grew up in Stuttgart, Arkansas and graduated from Stuttgart High School. She attended Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas where she met David Mooney. She was a passionate person that found joy in helping others. The things she enjoyed most of all were her animals, art, architecture, crafts - specifically quilting, stained glass, needle crafts, reading, listening to music " new age and 70"s and nature. She was the former bulletin editor for Trinity Parrish, librarian for Nicholson library in Longview, a Paul Harris Fellow with the Gilmer Rotary Club, and Office Manager "Toby" for Gilmer Cable T.V. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, David Palmer Mooney of Gilmer; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer and Craig Bass of Fort Worth and Jillana Mooney of Houston; brother, Ted McNeil of DeGray Lake, Arkansas; sister, Lyn Foster of Simms; grandchildren, Jordan Bass, Alden Bass, and Delaney Bass. Mrs. Mooney is preceded in death her brothers, John McNeil and David McNeil. No formal visitation is scheduled. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Scleroderma Foundation.
