Richard Clarke Barnes

Cremation arrangements for Richard Clarke Barnes, 81, of Holly Lake Ranch are under the direction. A celebration service for Mr. Barnes will be scheduled at a later date. Mr. Barnes passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 in Tyler, Texas.

Mr. Barnes was born July 7, 1935 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late Irl Hogan Barnes and Barbara Ridley Barnes. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Barnes earned a Chemical Engineering Degree from University of Missouri at Rolla. He held the position of President for Devoe Paint and Negley Paint Companies; after leaving he worked with several other paint manufacturing companies helping to make them more efficient and more productive companies. Richard was a loving father and husband and always put his family first. Richard’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, traveling and playing bridge with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Lyda Barnes who he met when he was 12years old; son Geoffrey Barnes and fiancée Amy Clark; five grandchildren Gregory Barnes, Ethan Barnes, Stuart Barnes, Hailey Barnes and Zachary Barnes.

Mr. Barnes is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Jennifer Barnes.
