Richard Arlen Burgin

Graveside services for Richard Arlen Burgin, 74, of Burleson, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Gladewater Memorial Park in Gladewater. Bishop Erik Johansen from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Longview 2nd ward will officiate the service. Mr. Burgin passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, in Burleson.

Richard was born December 12, 1944 in Manila, Arkansas to the late Louis Carnel Burgin and Neva Marie Harmon Burgin. Mr. Burgin was so excited about reading. He once said “I’ve travelled the world and have gone back millions of years in time.” He was a voracious reader and had collected many books over the years. He always encouraged his children, grandchildren and great grandchild to have a love of reading. He also enjoyed watching sci-fi movies and collecting Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. Wood working and gardening kept him busy after his wife Sharon passed in 2006. Richard missed the love of his life so much these last 13 years and we know what a joyous day it was to be reunited with her again. He will always be remembered by the loving family and friends he leaves behind.

Richard is survived by his two daughters Angel Walker, her husband Joe and Brianda Murrow; two brothers Kenneth Burgin and Carnell Burgin; four grandchildren; Anthony, David, Hailey and Avery; great granddaughter Nevaeh as well as many other loving family and friends.
