Phyllis E. Hazelrigg

Phyllis Elaine (Bender) Hazelrigg, age 95 of Middletown, Ohio, previously a long
time resident of Dallas, Gregg and Upshur counties, passed away on December 24,
2020. Phyllis was born April 24, 1925 in Akron, Ohio to Helen (Palmer) and
Floyd Bender.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Tom Alderman and David
Hazelrigg, and her youngest daughter Vicki (Alderman) Bouknight.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley (Bender) Koehler, son Steve (Kathy)
Alderman, daughter Barbara (Ed) Rhodes, grandchildren Sean (Chrissy) Alderman
and Kevin Alderman, John (Christa) Rhodes and Elizabeth (Rhodes) Jacobson,
greatgrandchildren Allison and Hannah Alderman, Ayden and Aubrey Rhodes and
Rylee Jacobson.

Phyllis deeply enjoyed serving her community which included volunteering for 8
Days of Hope, serving on the board of ETCADA, substitute teaching at Christian
Heritage School and as Municipal Judge in Ore City. She was a longtime faithful
member of her then home church Fellowship Bible Church in Longview, serving in
many and various aspects of the church body.

She deeply loved her family and friends and church.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10AM, Tuesday, December 5, 2021 at Rosewood Park in Longview. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
