Peter Carl Murlin

GILMER " Memorial services for Mr. Peter Carl Murlin, 65 of Gilmer, TX will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Upshur County with Bro. David Mays and Bro. Jim Atkins officiating. Mr. Murlin passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 in Gilmer. He was born on February 20, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio to James Murlin, Sr. and Irene Peterson Murlin. Mr. Murlin served his country in the U. S. Navy. He moved to Upshur County in 1982 and on January 29, 1999, he married Mary Ann McDaniel in Gilmer, Texas. Mr. Murlin was a self-employed dairy farmer and concrete contractor. He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. Mr. Murlin was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Ann Murlin of Gilmer; sons, Alton Forbus, Jr., David Greathouse and Larry Walker; daughters, Sondra Zuniga and Alicia Forbus; brother, James Murlin, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Gardnerville, Nev.; grandchildren, Thomas, Alton III, Stacie, Emily, April, Katie, Hunter, Gabriel, Kenzie and London. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
