Private family graveside services for Peggy Pinson, age 89 of Tyler, will be held at West Mountain Cemetery in Gilmer under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mrs. Pinson passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021, in Tyler.

Peggy Gean Barton Pinson was born in Henderson, Tennessee to John Herman Barton and Maggie Julia Story Barton on October 9, 1931. She was a homemaker and the wife of Aubrey Dwain Pinson. Peggy was a faithful Christian and a member of the University Church of Christ in Tyler. She enjoyed working in the yard, but her favorite past time was sewing for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and doing alterations for friends. She was also very active in the sewing group at her church that made quilts and throws for those in need. If you knew Peggy then you would surely know about her grandkids and great grandkids because she loved telling stories about each of them.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband of fifty years, brothers Perry Barton of Tennessee and Jim Barton of lllinois.

She is survived by her brothers Billy Barton of Talco, Bruce Barton and wife Brenda of Sweet Lips, Tennessee, sister Francis Brooks of Sweet Lips, Tennessee, son Ray Pinson and wife Susan of Terrell, daughter Darlene Ayers and husband Jimmy of Daingerfield, daughter Camille Mink and husband Lee of Tyler, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

ln lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to the University Church of Christ, 11114 Spur 248,Tyler,TX75707.
