Paul Gene Moon

Funeral services for Paul Gene Moon, 82, of Gilmer will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Croley Chapel in Gilmer with Bro. Mark Huffhines officiating. Interment will be in the Cherokee Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Moon passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 in Longview. Mr. Moon was born February 20, 1933, in El Dorado, OK to Louis Daniel and Lilly Odom Moon. He was retired from Gilmer Pottery as a supervisor in the Mold Shop, a veteran of the United State Air Force having served from 1951 to 1961 and part of that time was in Korea, president of the ASSA (softball) Association and a member and deacon of the Church of Power. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Moon of Gilmer; son, Paul E. Moon and wife, Nan of South Fork, CO; daughters, Beth Gilbert and husband, Ray Mack of Gilmer and Twila Collins and husband, Roy of Gilmer; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Moon was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers will be Jesse Bunn, Jason James, Ray Gilbert, Roy Collins, Hunter Collins and Paul Jacob Moon. Visitation will be Monday, December 14, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
