Oneida Beatrice Odom

Oneida Beatrice Odom, 95, of White Oak, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, in Gilmer. Graveside services for Mrs. Odom will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, at the Old White Oak Cemetery in White Oak with Bro. Wade Mayberry officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Odom was born October 6, 1926 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to the late Marshall Higginbotham and Macie Clark Higginbotham. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and homemaker. Oneida loved the Lord, her family and church. She was a devoted Baptist and cherished her time at church worshiping and praising God. Oneida enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, making dolls and spending time with all her family. She had a special relationship with each family member and loved them all unconditionally. Oneida leaves many loving family and friends to cherish her memory.

Oneida is survived by five children Oneida Mitchell of Portland, OR, Jan Stephens of Gilmer, Kathy Rouse and husband Robert of Gilmer, Jerry Odom and wife Michelle of Forsythe, MO and Melinda Stroman and husband Kevin of Hooks; sister Ardell Bozarth of White Oak; 16 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren as well as many other loving family and friends.

Preceding Oneida in death are her parents; husband Charles Odom; son Dwayne Odom; 8 siblings; 2 grandchildren Wayne Odom and Renee Rouse and great grandchild Mikey Miears.
