Ondra Lee Gilbert

Graveside services for Ondra Lee Gilbert, 86, of Gilmer, Texas are scheduled for 10 AM, Saturday, August 7, at Enoch Cemetery with Bishop Lee Eliff officiating. Visitation at Croley Funeral Home on Friday, August 6, from 6 - 8 PM.

Ondra was born May 10, 1935, in Gilmer, Texas to McKinley and Abbie Macie Lindsey Files, and married Johnnie Bunk Gilbert, August 13, 1955 in Dallas, Texas. She passed from this life, August 4, 2021, in Longview, Texas.

Ondra was a very loving person who had a big heart and a big smile. She attended business college to become a legal secretary; a position she held for most of her working career. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and served many years as a pianist and organist, as-well-as, serving a mission at the Church History Center, Salt Lake City, Utah, in acquisitions. Her hobbies were shopping, sewing, quilting, and Family History (Genealogy). She enjoyed taking trips with family and friends, eating out with special friends, and loved to attend the temple.

Preceded in death are her parents, husband, Johnnie Bunk Gilbert, and sister, Nelda Files Strowbridge. Those left to treasure her memories are her son, Ricky Gilbert (Peggy), daughter, Kania Janjua (Shahzad), and grandchildren, Courtney Smith (Eric) and Silas Janjua, whom she dearly loved, and Aunt Mary Lindsey Hardy.
