Oleta Nell Turney

Graveside service for Oleta Nell Turney, 86 of Jacksonville, TX will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Hopewell Cemetery with Bro. John Earl officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Turney passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Jacksonville, TX.
Oleta was born in Upshur County on January 16, 1932. Mrs. Turney knew what it meant to work hard, she retired from Frito Lay and the City of Dallas. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who took great care of her household. Oleta was a great cook and loved to square dance, she also loved spending quality time with her family.
Mrs. Oleta is survived by her husband; Carmen G. “Bud” Turney, sons; Steve Steelman, Mark Turney, Wayne Turney, daughters; Saundra Vandervort, Connie Turney, grandchildren; Linda Moss, Crystal Norman, Katlyn Lossey, Kyle Turney, April Huckby, Jason, Turney, Rachel Andrews, Belinda Barraza, David Vandervort, and great grandchildren, Stacy, Alyssa, Courtney, Candece, and Bee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandchild; Kristopher Turney, one brother, three sisters, and two sons.
