Olen Roy Keel

Funeral services for Olen Roy Keel, 88, of Gilmer, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marion Palmer officiating. Interment will follow at Enon Cemetery in Upshur County.

Mr. Keel passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 in Longview and was born on October 16, 1928 in Upshur County to William and Annie Keel. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict and worked for Lone Star Steel for 34 years. Mr. Keel was a master carpenter and builder, he married Gwen Hill Keel on February 9, 1952. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gilmer and also Bethesda Masonic Lodge #142 A.F. & A.M.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gwen Keel; son, Ronald Keel; sister, Lena Childress, all of Gilmer; grandchildren, Brandon Keel, Cody Keel and Joshua Keel and great grandchildren, Ethan Keel and Connor Keel.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Keel, who passed away in 2012.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
